Fruit of the Spirit
The fruit of the Spirit is the manifestation that the world around us see of the work that is taking place in us as children of God. Children of God who are completely yielded to Him. Allowing the Holy Spirit to help our new creation produce fruit.
Our world will be a better place if we let God do this work in us. When we manifest the fruit of the Spirit, our world is a better place for it.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
I remember this Sunday School lesson of the fruit of the Spirit. It's the best explanation I ever had of it. This how it breaks down each of the fruit and what it looks like in our everyday living.
Love - Putting others first
Joy - Believing God's promises
Peace - Knowing I'm God's child
Patience - Waiting with a good attitude
Gentleness - Being ready to listen
Goodness - Helping others
Kindness - Jesus shines through me
Faithfulness - Keeping your word
Self Control - Controlling your feelings

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. John 15:5-8
As Christians, when we accept Christ as Lord and Savior, we receive the person of the Holy Spirit. The more we allow the Holy Spirit to do His work in us the better we are able to produce and manifest the fruit of the Spirit.
This is a continuous work and process. There is no end to our yielding and manifesting the fruit of the Spirit. How well we produce and manifest depends on a lot of factors and its different for each person. Like a tree planted by the rivers of water, we need to constantly depend on the Holy Spirit.
We live to learn and grow and grow to learn and live.
He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season. Whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:3
