Lessons on Money.

God Owns Everything

We are stewards, not owners, of our resources.
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. (Psalm 24:1)

God Gives the Power to Make Wealth

We are stewards, not owners, of our resources.

Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath. Deuteronomy 8:18

Contentment is Key

True wealth is found in contentment, not possessions.
Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. 1 Timothy 6:6-8

Be Generous

Giving blesses both the giver and the receiver.
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. Luke 6:38

Be A Wise Investor

Investing wisely will multiply your resources.
But the servant who received the five bags of silver began to invest the money and earned five more. Matthew 25:16

Don’t Trust in Riches

Trust the giver of the riches not the riches. Material wealth fades, but spiritual wealth lasts forever. True riches are spiritual. Not measured by possessions.
Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God. Then, turning to his disciples, Jesus said, “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing. Luke 12:21-23

Save For The Rainy Days

Wise people save rather than spend everything.
The wise have wealth and luxury, but fools spend whatever they get. Proverbs 21:20.

Greed is a killer of joy.

Greed can lead to destruction and separation from God. Contentment is the key to overcoming greed.
Greedy people try to get rich quick but don’t realize they’re headed for poverty. Proverbs 28:22.

Avoid Debt.

Debt can become a form of slavery. Owing money can hinder your ability to live your purpose.
Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender. Proverbs 22:7
Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. Romans 13:8

Money is a Tool.

Money is neither good or bad. It takes up the characteristics and attributes of its owner. Money is a resource. It is the love of money that is evil.
For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10.

Store Treasures in Heaven.

Invest in eternal things, not just material wealth.
Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Matthew 6:19.

Where your heart is, this also is where your treasure is. How are you spending your time, talent and treasure? This is a good starting point of what is important to you.
