Your Relationship with God: Why It Matters and How.

Life moves fast. Between work, family, errands, relationships, and a long list of goals and responsibilities, it's easy to feel stretched thin. We do our best to balance it all—checking boxes, chasing dreams, and holding it together. But in the middle of all the hustle, we often forget the one connection that holds everything else together: our relationship with God.

Why This relationship Matters

God didn’t create us to just survive the busyness of life. He created us for fellowship—with Him. Like any meaningful relationship, that connection needs time, attention, and care. When we give God first place in our hearts and schedules, things begin to shift. Not because life gets easier, but because we start to see it through His eyes. He brings wisdom for decisions, peace in the chaos, and strength when we feel worn down.

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33 (NLT)

This is a promise of God and it still stands today. But it’s easy to miss when our focus is scattered. So how do we put God first?

Simple Steps to Draw Closer To God.

 Start Your Day with God

Begin each morning with prayer and reading the Scripture. It doesn’t have to be lengthy, just honest. A few minutes of intentional time with God can reframe your entire day.

Talk to Him Throughout the Day

Prayer isn’t limited to morning or night. Invite God into your everyday moments—whether you're driving, doing dishes, or facing a tough situation. He’s always near and ready to listen.

 Surround Yourself with Positive Encouragement

Choose and listen to what can uplift your spirit. Worship music, devotionals, and conversations with other believers can help keep your heart focused on God.

 Worship and Serve

Attend church, join a Bible study, or find ways to help others. Worship and acts of service not only glorify God—they strengthen your bond with Him.

 Be Consistent and Intentional

Growth happens over time. Set aside moments in your routine to spend with God—distraction-free, heart open, ready to listen and grow.

 A Prayer for Today

Lord, help me to put You first. Teach me to seek You daily and to trust You in every part of my life. Let my relationship with You be the foundation that everything else rests on. Amen.

When God is your priority, everything else begins to make more sense. Life may still be messy, but you'll have the One who brings order and purpose walking with you every step of the way.
